Summer?

We've had a hot and humid summer this year. More than makes up for last year's drizzly cold mess.

But it's going by too fast!!! It's already August! School is right around the corner.

Tonight is DD's first parade for Marching Band. I'm excited to see her perform! Luckily they aren't wearing their heavy heavy uniforms, just their camp t-shirts and shorts. They would be all passed out before the parade started if they had to wear their uniforms.

I'm running in a 5k Saturday with a couple of friends. I can't wait! Well I can't wait to hang out with some girlfriends, running!?!?! not so much. Not in this heat. I'm used to running on the dreadmill in the winter when it's 20 degrees. LOL

I need a clothes makeover, I need a personal shopper or something.... Can't afford that so I'm cruising the interwebs looking for help. Any sites you've found for great fashion tips and advice? I'm considering signing up for MissusSmartyPants... I haven't decided for sure yet.

Good luck this weekend. I'm sure you'll have fun. No falling! :-)

I've considered asking someone (whose style I love) to shop with me at a department store. I'm hoping flattery will be enough to entice her into going with me and I'll buy her lunch. Have any fashion role models around you?

I don't know that I'm going to get many new clothes this fall. I just need a thorough edit of my wardrobe and a few things like a pair of pants and good versatile blouse (I ruined my $60 great, wrinkle free blouse...so mad).

Oh, and did you get your chocolate wine?

*pout* no, the weekend ended up being a horrible bust. No money was made by anyone and we weren't close to any grocery stores.

Ugh-that sucks. Promise that means you don't hate WI. :-)

I don't want summer to be over. It's been brutally hot, but I'll take the heat over *shudders* two blizzards in three days anytime.

Ayla looks cute with her cool shades and coronet. Can't wait to see her in her uniform.

Good luck with the 5k!

Good job on your run. After this morning, I completely agree about running when it's cold, although I'm not a big fan of a treadmill. I get too bored too easily.

I am hoping after my Tri that I will be able to fit into some clothes I haven't worn in a while. That will be a makeover for me.

Ayla is growing up way too soon.

I hope the parade went well. Ayla looks very enthusiastic in her pic.

Some stores will just give you a personal shopper if you ask. So dress up in your best, most expensive clothes & ask. The worst they can say is no. Tom sometimes gets a saleswoman to help him pick out stuff at Macy's.

I would rather have cold drizzles than heat.

*snort* yeah Kim, if I help her out she will go home wearing nothing but jeans, Giants or 49er t-shirts and flip flops or Converse tennies. I am quite the fashion girl.
